A tepid end to the Knightfall saga Review by Ryan

I want to start off by saying, on the whole, I enjoyed the third and final volume of the 90s Batman storyline. The characters are written well, the action is thick and fast, and it's definitely worth the money, with the amount of issues it contains. However, I do have some issues with the story. The first would be the somewhat anticlimactic way in which Bruce Wayne reclaims his cowl. No spoilers here, but the way in which this is done doesn't make that much sense, and also feels a poor payoff after the three volumes worth of issues you've collected. The next is the lack of Bane's presence. Sure, he defeated Bruce then fell to Jean-Paul Valley, but they clearly hint that he'll try and face Bruce now that he's back as Batman, and that doesn't go anywhere. Finally, the added 'Prodigy' story is somewhat redundant, meaning it isn't really needed in this volume. It doesn't had that much to the story, and just seems a way of the publisher prolonging the story. (Posted on 19/04/2021)
