Having thoroughly enjoyed the first volume of Knightfall, I was interested to see what would happen next. Valley as Batman is interesting, but (having known beforehand he would ultimately become a much more ruthless and darker vigilante) I was somewhat disappointed to see that the writers waste no time in trying to develop the new hero, and immediately make him a much more merciless figure from the get-go. Another criticism is that the edition I obtained left out the relevant issues that explain what the injured Bruce Wayne was up to during this time, which does make me slightly confused. All in all though, its an enjoyable enough read, and fun to see how Valley's Batman deals with many of the enemies Wayne has had over the decades, but in a different way. (Posted on 19/04/2021)
