A worthy successor to Brubaker Review by Ryan

Having read Ed Brubaker's acclaimed run on Captain America a few years, I was interested to see how Rick Remender would follow up. While the comics collected here aren't as original or status quo-busting as Brubaker's, its certainly got its fair share of great moments. For starters, my personal highlight is the first arc: Castaway in Dimension Z. Remender's writing and Romita Jr.'s art meld together perfectly, creating a dark, sci-fi story, unlike anything I have ever seen Captain America in. Like Jason Aaron's run on Thor (and, to an extent, Brubaker's run on Cap), nothing really tops the initial dozen-or-so issues, but the remainder of this collection still features some great moments, whether it be Cap talking down the violent soldier Nuke, the emergence of the enigmatic Iron Nail, or the crowning of Sam Wilson as the all-new Captain America.
