My First Thor Epic Review by Adam

I have been a Marvel and Spider-Man fan for 25 years, but I rarely ventured far from the Webspinner. I was enjoying Spider-Man’s epic collections so much I decided to branch out into other characters. I enjoyed Thor from the MCU so decided to star here.

I had no idea at the time that this was the 3rd of 4 Epics focusing on Tom Deflaco and Ron Frenz era on the Son of Odin. It didn’t matter. I knew those names from Spider-Man, and the title “The Black Galaxy” caught my attention.

Despite never reading a Thor book before I was not out of my element. The benefit of stories from this era is that the writers and editors are very good at catching the audience up. This collection has it all, Thor on Earth fighting super powered human treats, to so some explosive space operas that fill every panel with exciting images. As well as that there are subplots and supporting characters that keep the momentum going and kept me interested in the next issue.

I will tracking down the other Epics in this run as I would like to see how this run started and how it ends. (Posted on 28/05/2020)
