If, like me, you picked this up after reading the Annihilation event, you'll find the first four issues very familiar: they're the Nova tie-in issues. I kind of wish they weren't included, because I feel a majority of people buying this will have read Annihilation, but it's a small criticism anyway. After the tie-ins, we get to see Nova return to Earth, face Iron Man and his former teammate Speedball (now the masochistic Penance), before returning to space for the Annihilation sequel: Conquest. Next, he'll travel to deepest, darkest space and board Knowhere (fans of Guardians of the Galaxy will no doubt recognise this) and meet Cosmo (possibly one of my favourite characters ever after reading this!). Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning's writing is superb, and should not be missed! (Posted on 18/04/2021)
