Mike Ploog was born in St. Thomas, Minnesota in 1942. While in the military, he started working for Leatherneck magazine. Ploog stands out for his macabre horror stories he did for such titles as 'Werewolf by Night', 'Frankenstein', 'Ghostrider' 'Conan', 'Planet of the Apes' and 'Creepy' during the 1970s. In his graphic novel 'The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus', Ploog showed the lighter and more nostalgic side of his talent. He has also worked on several other Marvel series. However, Mike Ploog spent most of his career as a designer and storyboard artist in Hollywood. Mike has since done extensive work with companies such as Wizards of the Coast and being commissioned for 90 paintings for a trading card set. He worked on a recent comic series called Abadazaad with Crossgen and a comic series called "Stardust Kid". Some of his last work in recent years was a large desktop book GOLIATH by FPG and THICKER THAN BLOOD another classic Werewolf horror series.
