Fan of Infinity Gauntlet? A must have Review by Ryan

Having read this after Infinity Gauntlet, I came to appreciate Starlin's writing and Ron Lim's art even more. The story of the Silver Surfer stumbling upon the resurrection of Thanos, and the subsequent clash with the Mad Titan, is a sight to behold. My favourite part of this is the two-issue Thanos Quest storyline, which sees the titular character gather the six individual Infinity Gems from the various guardians possessing them. I do have one complaint, which I already highlighted in my review for Infinity Gauntlet. In these Silver Surfer issues, Thanos is portrayed much the way he is in the MCU films. He's driven not just by his goal to please Mistress Death, but also to save the universe from collapse due to its swelling population. By the time Infinity Gauntlet rolls around, however, he has dropped this latter motive and simply wants to kill for the sake of it. I'm unsure if this change of motivation was explained in another issue (or I just wasn't paying enough attention), but it does mean that the Thanos we see in the main crossover event is slightly less well-rounded than the one we see here.
